A Passed Family Member

While I was not alive to meet my great grandfather, I have heard many stories of what an amazing person he was from my mother. She has told me how he enjoyed acting, and he worked as a food seller. In addition, I have heard several stories about him from my great grandma who is still alive to this day and what a generous and kind person he was. Even though I did not have the opportunity to meet him myself, throughout all the stories I’ve heard I have always wondered what it would have been like to get to know him. I have received permission from my grandma to use the photo of her with her father, my great grandfather. IMG_0668

Interviewing My Parents

For this challenge, I interviewed my mom on her grandmother. She was the youngest of six children, and grew up in a poor household with her father dying while she was five years old and her mother speaking no English. Besides this, she was still a very positive and generous person especially towards her grandchildren while they grew up. She says that her grandmother grew up during the Great Depression, and being so poor growing up she never wanted to see her children or anyone in her family like that again contributing to her generosity. All throughout growing up, she loved school and always wanted to become a schoolteacher, but she was not allowed to attend college because her mother would not allow her because she was a woman.

I put a picture of riots during the Great Depression as my great grandma experienced being very poor at the time.

Using Images On My Blog

By using images on my blog, I have learned a few things. I have learned how to properly cite images and making sure images I have do not get taken. I have also learned that including images on my blog makes it more fun and interesting to look at especially when there are visual representations.  Blogging has helped me in properly putting images down and explaining them through posts.
